Maybe there’s a God above...

Three years ago I wrote a book about Leonard Cohen and if you haven’t read it you really should, but first read this article I wrote about LC and religion for Aeon magazine.

Very nice. Your Radiohead book made me listen to Radiohead, now your Leonard Cohen book will make me listen to Leonard Cohen...

This reminded me of the joke
"Why does a Jew always answer a question with a question?"
"And why shouldn't a Jew answer a question with a question?"

Got very confused for a moment there.

Poor old Len. I remember seing an TV documentary about him in the Buddhist retreat and he seemed to be living two inner lives: one embracing the religous experience and the other accepting that both it and he were manipulative. I guess that's all part of being an artist. My Danish ex-girlfriend named her son after him; if he's really down on his uppers I'm sure some cheerful lass over there will take him in.

I just want Lenny to do a full-on klezmer album, Annie.

It's age, LC. You get used to it.

Yes, Gadjo, he is capable of seeing things from both (or more) sides.
